At Play Wild we are passionate about children and adults having access to the outdoors and being able to play, explore and learn in a safe but challenging environment. We also believe that we are all able to make a difference in the world, however small, and that we should be protecting the environment for future generations. These beliefs are the foundation of our business and have helped us to decide what is important to us and what we want Play Wild to represent. We have come up with these 3 core values. We are in no way limited to these values and strive to constantly grow and evolve.
Sustainability –
At Play Wild we strive to be a sustainable business. We recognise that this is an ongoing journey and that we are not yet as sustainable as we would like to be. When new equipment, resources and uniforms need to be purchased we will endeavour to source products that are environmentally friendly, sustainable and ethical to match our ethos. We will promote this message through our groups, sessions and wider work to help support others to make sustainable changes if they choose. Play Wild are part of the Surfers Against Sewage Cleaner Coastlines Campaign in partnership with Weston-super-Mare Chamber of Commerce, Visit Weston and The Weston, Worle and Somerset Mercury and we are a ‘Plastic Free Champion’ business.
Connection –
At Play Wild we believe that connections are important. We endeavour to help children and adults connect to nature and the environment through our activities, services and information. We hope that people will feel a connection to new ideas and experiences and pass their knowledge on. We also want to help to connect people and families to each other and the wider community. We promote positive interactions with both people and nature and hope to build respectful relationships with both.
Community –
We believe that every child has the right to play and access the outdoors in a safe environment but acknowledge that sometimes this is hard for families. We aim to support families and individuals to access the outdoors by building a community of people and organisations who support and help each other to have fun outside. We promote inclusion, equality and respect in all of our sessions and welcome everyone to be part of our wider community.
